Where to start? I can't say enough about the dedication and professionalism of the staff at Lake Sumter Transmission, especially Brian who was assigned to work with me on my car and all the issues that came with it! I purchased a 1986 Special built Austin Healy barn find that had been sitting for almost ten years, barn finds are a good thing for the seller but can be a lot of work for the buyer as everything can rust, dry out and just plain cause havoc with all operable parts and this one has been no exception. Lake Sumter Transmission took on the challenge and began working on my AH dealing with the many issues it presented all while finding parts added to the nightmare, Brian was always open and honest with me throughout the process and went above and beyond to get my car operational and safe to drive. They did everything they could and when they reached a point where they were getting beyond their capabilities, they were honest with me and helped me find a shop that could complete the project. I would highly recommend LST to anyone with any vehicle type or issues and feel confident that they will also be totally satisfied!

Made me wait almost 2 months for an appt . And had me drive 1 hr to tell me basically That because my truck had a switched transmission. It was too much of a headache for them. Didn't even look at it and gave me the worst vibe.

First off, I would like to respond to some of your statements. According to my calendar you made the appointment on 4/29/2024 at 10:01am. You said that you put a used transmission in the truck but didn't say that it was a different model that was an option for the truck. Even though the replacement transmission was an option for your vehicle does not mean that you can install it without changing (just to name a few) the computer, the wiring harness and the computer programming specific to the transmission and not the vehicle. When my advisor tried to explain this to you, you went into a profanity laced tirade and stormed out. Not that I think you will be back, but I am informing you that as a customer at my auto repair shop You are Fired.

Im very disappointed as I really thought I had found the right place to get my car fixed based on the reviews. When I called first thing I asked after giving them my car’s year, make and model was if they would be able to rebuild my transmission as I already know thats what it needs and they told me yes, just to find out when I bring it to them that they will not be able to rebuild it, hit me with an $8,000 quote to get a new transmission from Ford and then when I told them I couldn’t afford it because it was way over my budget they hit me with a $237.07 bill just to do a diagnostic which I didnt even get because I still do not know what is wrong with my transmission internally, they never made me aware that I would have to pay that amount if they didnt feel like doing the rebuild, because is truly possible specially for a dedicated transmission shop. Just seems like they are trying to get the most out of you as possible and easy work for them to just swap rather than have to rebuild. Just very disappointing. I do have to say the guys are very nice over the phone just not happy about the whole outcome and charge as I am a business owner and I will never tell a customer I can do something I can’t and then charge them that kind of money for it.

Don't work Brian and it seemed like he was very unconcerned about the second time I brought my truck in for issues of the $5,000 transmission that he put in
